These days Untethered Jailbreak is a very hot topic and every one is after the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4, iPod 4, iPod 3, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4S, iPad 1 and iPad 2. Those who got A4 chipped iDevices and lower are always on safe side. Rather than people owning A5 iDevices are not yet with any luck. People owning A4 chipped and lower iDevices are on safe side because these iDevices have been PWNED for life and can be Jailbroken Tethered on any firmware. Where as, people on A5 iDevices are not with any luck so far because Apple has equipped a whole new processor and made it little bit difficult to Exploit the Hardware.

It doesn’t matters, how hard Apple tries to put people away from the Jailbreak, every time with the release of new iOS update, there is a bug which leads to Jailbreak and starts the cat & mouse game. Now, with the release of iOS 5.0, there was a bug found by Charlie Miller, which could lead to iOS 5.0 Untethered Jailbreak. Unfortunately; Apple patched the bug in its new update of iOS 5.0.1. After the update of iOS 5.0.1 people started to loose hope in the hackers and some of them updated to iOS 5.0.1 to fix the battery drain issues. But, those who updated to iOS 5.0.1 are still facing the issues. So Apple is seeing the issues once again in its new update of iOS 5.1.

The iOS 5.1 Beta 1 was released few weeks back for Developers only. So the new Beta might be around the corner. Before Apple released iOS 5.1, @Pod2g luckily found a new bug in iOS 5.0 which leads to an Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4, iPod 4, iPod 3 and iPhone 3GS. He demoed a video few days back showing the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.0 on iPod 3. At the time he demoed the video about the Untethered Jailbreak, he was not sure if the exploit would work on iPhone 4 or not.

So today @Pod2g confirmed that it is safe to update to iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4 because the bug he had found earlier is also working fine on iPhone 4.

Got an untethered iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1. Feel free to update.

After hearing this news, every one must be damn excited and willing to update. So before you plan to update to iOS 5.0.1 make sure that you are not doing it via iTunes. If you do it via iTunes, you will be locked on iOS 5.0.1 because iOS 5.0 got a new baseband which is not yet unlockable. This warning is for those who rely on an Unlock. If you rely on an Unlock, So you follow the guide from here and preserve your old baseband and update on iOS 5.0.1.

Those who are never locked (Factory Unlocked) can update to iOS 5.0.1 by any means. They can update via iTunes or custom.

Don’t forget to save your iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs by iFaith using this guide.

We have already leaked out the suspense of the thing in the title, you guys have read write. It’s finally available in the market to install or port an iPhone 4S Siri on the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch. Since the hackers have teased the video of showing Siri working on the iPhone 4, iOS users go mad on the developers and start asking them for the public launch. Later, we found out that it’s impossible to launch a Siri port because it requires some Apple copyrighted files and the keys of iPhone 4S.

However, with all this news crunch, we have also seen some tweaks launched in the Cydia through unknown sources who claimed to port the Siri on the iPhone 4 but after checking it, we found that it’s just another scam. However, it seems this time, the team known as CD-Team has just able to finally build a tweak called “H1Siri” which brings GUI and the minor connectivity with the service servers but at least not with Apple’s Server, the team has made the GUI connectivity with their own private servers.

How To Fully Port Siri On iPhone 4 & iPod Touch 4G

STEP 1: First of, you’ll need an iPhone 4 or iPod touch running iOS 5 / iOS 5.0.1.

STEP 2: You’ll also need to jailbreak your iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4G by using our guide posted here for iOS 5.

STEP 3: Once jailbroken, head to Cydia then Manage, Sources, Edit and finally hit Add.

STEP 4: Write the following repository and hit add:

http://www.cydia.be

OR

http://www.iphone3gsystem.fr/cydia

OR

http://cydia.iphonetweak.fr

STEP 5: Get back to Cydia and search for H1Siri and install it. It will take some time since it weighs 109 MB.

STEP 6: After successful installation, give your device a reboot.

STEP 7: Now go to Settings, General, Siri and switch it to on.

However, the Siri port provides few features to your old gen devices, but along with you must have note that it won’t works smoothly as it works on the iPhone 4S, and there is no guarantee from where your personal information broadcasted to Apple’s server or to proxy server. It’s highly advised to you, not to kick out the hack on your personal device. We are not responsible for any kind of damage by using this guide. We have tested it on our device, it works but after couple of reboots.

Update #1: As reported by the famous developers in the iOS jailbreak community, its not safe to use the tweak. Because the siri port does not connects your device directly to the Apple’s Server, instead they have connected their own private server and can easily capture all the ongoing information from your device.

Update #2: Since we have posted about it, many users have reported that after installing the tweak they could not record anything on their device anymore. However, after digging into the roots of the original file, the developer comes up with a little work around which allow you to fix the bugs on iPhone 4.

Download H1Siri Camera App Fix File From Here, Before You Follow The Tutorial

First of all SSH your device using the available software for both major operating systems, WinSCP for Windows and CyberDuck for Mac OS. After you successfully logged in your device, navigate to the“Root/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.dyld”, there you should get the filename ““dyld_shared_cache_armv7” simply replace it or delete it with above downloaded file on your device. That’s all, after performing the task, simply reboot your device and try to shoot a video with your device.

This would come in handy, as an example, if you find yourself in a dead zone. It would be easier to track which area will allow you to make that important call. We’ve all been there, holding ours phones up like the Statue of Liberty trying to achieve a single bar.

I went ahead and dove into the steps on my iPhone 4. It does access a hidden area of your iphone so proceed with caution. What we do in the name of technology! Your iPhone does not need to be jailbroken and the process is simple.

I’m not sure if it works for all iPhone models or in all countries for that matter, but if you would like to see the results for yourself, here are the steps:

Step 1: Dial *3001#12345#* on your iPhone then press Call.

Step 2: You’ll now enter Field Test Mode. You’ll notice a signal strength indicator on the upper left hand corner of your screen. You can toggle between signal strength bars and a number by simply taping on it. At this point, press the home button to exit the app or if you would like the feature to be permanent, continue on. Don’t worry, the process is completely reversible.

Step 3: Hold down on the Power button until you see the ‘slide to power off’ bar. Do not power off the device.

Step 4: Press down on the Home button until the app closes and you return to your home screen.

That’s it. Even when restarting the iPhone, the signal strength can be toggled between bars and numbers. The closer your number is to zero, the stronger your signal is.

To return to the default bars permanently, follow these steps:

Step 1: Dial *3001#12345#* on your iPhone then press Call.

Step 2: Press on your Home Button once.

Today we have some big news regarding the effort to port Siri to other devices. With the development last week of SiriProxy, as well as Applidium’s tools, the ability for developers to run their own Siri servers rose dramatically. Now, we see the fruits of those efforts, as the first package that enables Siri on all devices is now available in Cydia.

The package is called Siri0us, and is available for free if you add a custom source. If you want to download the package, simply open Cydia, go to the “Manage” tab, choose “Sources”, and click “Add”. When presented with a text field, type in “http://cydia.myrepospace.com/0xjf/” and add the source. Then, just open the source or search for “Siri0us” in the search menu. There have been errors reported with the download, so just keep trying if it fails.

Video Tutorial:

Note that this is not full Siri functionality, just the dictation feature that comes as part of Siri. While we don’t have the full system integration that there is on the iPhone 4S, this is a huge step in the right direction. Hopefully we will see a lot more developers get on this, and the process of getting Siri fully working can move onward.

Last night, many people got their hopes up when p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team said he had an exciting announcement. While it wasn’t the untethered jailbreak that many were hoping for, they did release a crash reporter tool to help them gather all the info they will eed to make the long awaited jailbreak.

Now, we have some news that will really excite those that have been holding off on the iPhone 4S because they rely on an unlock. According to a tweet from Musclenerd on Twitter, the Dev Team is working hard on a “very promising” unlock for the 4S.

Crazy Thanksgiving weekend! Very promising 4S unlock (twitpic.com/7kku4t) is in the works (Not i4, just 4S..that’s crazy part)

Along with the tweet he released this picture:

Up until now there has been no way for users to unlock their iPhone 4S, so this is great news for anyone that relies on an outside carrier. Stay tuned for more info on the release as Musclenerd reveals more on Twitter!

This a great news and a post for those who were waiting for SIRI to come on iPhone 4 and below. This is not any official release by Hackers who ported SIRI to the iPhone 4 but this is the perfect port of SIRI done on iPhone 4 by Iris Dev Team. The Iris Dev Team is made of some French Developers who ported SIRI to older iDevices. The compatibility so far is for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod 4.

This is a perfect port of SIRI and no words have been said on the activation of SIRI. This means that you can get SIRI on your iDevice but you cannot connect to Apple’s server. The activation of SIRI is in progress and it said to be released soon.

After reading the above statement, follow the steps below:

Step#1:

Your iDevice must be on iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1

The Device must be Jailbroken

You must have some knowledge about SSH or how to use iFunbox (WINDOWS) or Cyber Duck for (MAC)

If you are on the above stated things, so you can proceed further.

Step#2:

Download iFunbox or Cybder Duck on your PC or MAC. Then install iFile from Cydia.

Step#3:

After you have downloaded the above files, now download the original SIRI file from here.

Step#4:

Once you are done with Downloading, now get ready for some real work. Before you proceed, make sure that you are near any PC or MAC.

Now open iFunbox or CyberDuck and connect your iDevice. Once the iDevice is connected, it will show you a menu like this:

Now navigate to Raw File System

Ste#5:

When you are in Raw File system you will see the above folders. Now navigate to VAR folder or stay on the Root. All you have to do is place the Downloaded file in one of the locations. We would suggest you to place the file on the ROOT.

Step#6:

Now go into your iPhone and open iFile. Once iFile is opened find the file you putted from iFunbox into iPhone.

Like we have saved the file in VAR. We would reccomend you to save the file on Root. It would be easy to find.

Step#7:

Press and hold the file. Now it will give you some options. From all of those select installer and give your iPhone a minute or so to install the file on your iPhone. Once the installation is done, Done will appear on your upper left corner in blue,. Press that and you are not done yet.

Step#8:

The last step is to boot tethered. When the iPhone boots up. Voila! you are done now and you will have SIRI on your iPhone 4.

Go into Settings and it will be there.

Now simply go into SIRI and turn it on and enjoy the demo of SIRI.

Once again SIRI wont work properly because it is not yet activated. Means that is not yet connected to Apple’s server, So SIRI will say that it is having trouble while connecting to the network.

Most of our fans are asking us how to downgrade from iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 4.3.5, iOS 4.3.3 and other old firmwares. So we will show you how to downgrade your iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, 4G and iPad from iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 4.3.5, iOS 4.3.3 and any old firmware in this post step by step.

Downgrade 5.0.1 to 4.3.3 / 4.3.5 – Requirement :

Before we show you how to downgrade 5.0.1 to 4.3.3 / 4.3.5 or any iOS version please keep in mind that you can only downgrade your iOS version only if you have saved your SHSH blobs (for the older iOS version) using either Cydia or TinyUmbrella (or even the “copy from /tmp during restore” method for advanced users).

iPhone 4S downgrade still not available as it can’t be jailbroken so far.

How to downgrade 5.0.1 to 4.3.3 / 4.3.5 – iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, iPad:

Step 1: Make sure that you have downloaded the version of iOS which you gonna downgrade to (4.3.5, 4.3.3 or any iOS version).
4.3.3:

iPhone 4 (GSM)

iPhone 4, iOS 4.2.8 (Verizon)

4.3.5:

iPhone 4 (GSM)

Step 2: Navigate to :
Windows Users:Windows > System 32 > drivers > etc
Mac Users :etc

Open hosts file with the text editor then add the following code to the end of the file :

74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

Alternatively: Use TinyUmbrella to make iTunes look at Cydia’s Server in the Advanced options.

Step 3: Plug your iOS device and switch it off

Step 4: Put your iOS device in DFU mode. I am sure anyone who is reading this guide knows how to enter DFU mode.

Step 5: Select the firmware you gonna downgrade to manually to restore your deice. (Shift on Windows, and option on a Mac)

iTunes will till you that it will talk to Apple servers but actually it will talk to Cydia servers.

Step 6: You may receive 10xx error, but don’t worry, this is normal and has a quick fix. You must download a program like TinyUmbrella or Fix Recovery, open it up and click on Exit Recovery to get out of the error.

Now you have ended your downgrade successfully. If you have any question let us know below.

Music Controls Pro has been dropped into the Big Boss repository. This new version of the tweak allows you to control your music from a whopping 46 music programs including Pandora, Spotify, Grooveshark and your standard iPod app.

The tweak runs in the background; so pressing the Home button or interacting with other apps won’t stop the songs or even videos you may be listening to. While the tweak is running; you can control your music collection by many ways including by your headset, by Bluetooth or directly from your lock screen.

It also comes packed with SBSetting toggle options, dock metadata for car stereos and remote server support. The remote server allows you to control your music playing on your iPhone from another iPhone over WiFi. I’m still unsure how this would be useful although you can turn this particular feature off.

You can find Music Controls Pro in the Cydia store and is currently priced at $5.99 but if you’re not yet sold, give it a shot for free; you’ll have the option of downloading a full trial for 5 days. Plus, there are reports that the tweak is crashing or not functioning properly for some so it may be a good idea to check out the trial anyway before you cough up the dough.

What many consider to be Apple‘s most exciting feature in the iPhone 4S, vocal assistant feature Siri, can in fact, be ported to the iPhone 4.

According to 9to5 Mac, developer Steven Troughton-Smith was able to port the software on his iPhone 4 after first installing the files for Siri and Springboard, which controls how the iOS home screen acts. For example, it is Springboard that allows your icons to wiggle after you’ve held one down for a certain amount of time. Once he had the files in place, he successfully began porting.

Apple has been known to hold features for its newest products. The first assumption is obviously Apple wants to make its next product appealing. It’s marketing. But at the same time, Apple doesn’t like applications to work on its products if not perfectly. In the first video below, the iPhone 4 seems to balk a little under the extra Siri weight.

But even if the hardware can just barely support a feature, Apple’s famously minimalistic view strips the feature out to prevent it from gumming up the works. As 9to5Mac points out, Apple withheld custom wall paper from iPhone 3 users when the iPhone 4 arrived, even though the mechanics could technically support custom wallpapers, if not smoothly.

The issue here was a problem connecting Siri to the iPhone 4 GPU, or graphics processing unit. But after a few hours, Troughton-Smith was able to access it and run Siri with less hiccups. The two videos below show the difference between accessing the GPU and not — it’s very choppy at first, as opposed to a nice, smooth glide through the features we see post GPU access.

Though this downside was fixed, another issue is Apple’s servers will not listen to Siri commands coming from the iPhone 4.

Siri does have all the same capabilities on the iPhone 4, however. The feature has a standard speech view as well as a text field view, which are both available after the port. See the videos of Siri running on an iPhone 4 below.

By now you have seen the image below of Steve Jobs inside of the Apple logo that has spread like wild fire since his death. And to honor the great man, an Apple fan has created a mod which gives tribute to Steve Jobs on the backplate of the iPhone 4/4S.

You’ve probably seen other posts on Redmond Pie showing off mods for the iPhone 4, but now we have a new one. What was created here is a backplate for the iPhone 4/4S that looks like it should have come stock on the iPhone 4S and would perfectly fit the iPhone for(Steve) nickname that was given after Steve’s death. You can see in the images below that it looksgreat just perfect! The backplate depicts the above image along with Steve Jobs’ name and the years he spent on this Earth. This is a great tribute to a man who affected us all in a great way. Love or hate Apple or Steve Jobs, you should appreciate this tribute.

Now if we could couple this with the mod to light up the Apple logo, I think this would be onekiller mod. Of course, the mod to light up the Apple logo is a bit steep and its really awesome to see. These are strictly fashion mods and should not effect the quality or usefulness of the device itself. So you shouldn’t lose function but it could be a reason for Apple to void your warranty.

I must say though, if I had an iPhone 4/4S then I would be ordering one of these immediately! So if you are willing to grab one of these and do the light-up Apple logo mod, send us pictures of them combined so that we can see it and share it here on It’s My Phone.

You can pick up your very own here from K.O Gadget for a very awesome price of $23.90 along with complete instructions on how to install the mod on your iPhone 4S and 4. And as you can see this is shipped from China so expect so time if you order one for delivery. I know that I have ordered products from Hong Kong before, and it took almost a month before they finally arrived on the East Coast. Also, you may want to order this ASAP as Apple may pursue a Cease and Desist on the manufacturing and sale of this item. So you may be one of the very few if you get your order in and receive the item.
