The wait is finally over. Chronic DevTeam has just released GreenPois0n Absinthe for Mac, which allows you to jailbreak your iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

Supported devices and firmwares

iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0 or either 4S version of 5.0.1

iPad 2 WiFi, CDMA and GSM running iOS 5.0.1

NOTE: if you need to unlock , stay at iOS 5.0

NOTE: If the Absinthe webclip shows “Error establishing a database connection”, please go to Settings, turn on VPN and wait instead. The VPN connection will give an error. This is normal. A reboot should happen a few moments after the error.

NOTE: No OTA updates

How to:

1. Download Absinthe - updated version ( mirror )

2. Connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2

3. Click Jailbreak

4. Wait a few minutes.

NOTE: if you’re iDevice gets stuck at ‘waiting to reboot’, don’t worry. You will need to manually reboot your iDevice

5. After reboot, you will see a new Absinthe icon on your SpringBoard. Tap on that to get Cydia.

5.1 It will probably say ‘Error Establishing a Database Connection’. Don’t worry. Unplug your iPhone, go to Settings.app and turn on VPN.

6. After you get that VPN error, your iPhone will reboot and your iPhone/iPad will be fully jailbroken.

Thanks to everybody involved in this jailbreak ….

We have already leaked out the suspense of the thing in the title, you guys have read write. It’s finally available in the market to install or port an iPhone 4S Siri on the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch. Since the hackers have teased the video of showing Siri working on the iPhone 4, iOS users go mad on the developers and start asking them for the public launch. Later, we found out that it’s impossible to launch a Siri port because it requires some Apple copyrighted files and the keys of iPhone 4S.

However, with all this news crunch, we have also seen some tweaks launched in the Cydia through unknown sources who claimed to port the Siri on the iPhone 4 but after checking it, we found that it’s just another scam. However, it seems this time, the team known as CD-Team has just able to finally build a tweak called “H1Siri” which brings GUI and the minor connectivity with the service servers but at least not with Apple’s Server, the team has made the GUI connectivity with their own private servers.

How To Fully Port Siri On iPhone 4 & iPod Touch 4G

STEP 1: First of, you’ll need an iPhone 4 or iPod touch running iOS 5 / iOS 5.0.1.

STEP 2: You’ll also need to jailbreak your iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4G by using our guide posted here for iOS 5.

STEP 3: Once jailbroken, head to Cydia then Manage, Sources, Edit and finally hit Add.

STEP 4: Write the following repository and hit add:

http://www.cydia.be

OR

http://www.iphone3gsystem.fr/cydia

OR

http://cydia.iphonetweak.fr

STEP 5: Get back to Cydia and search for H1Siri and install it. It will take some time since it weighs 109 MB.

STEP 6: After successful installation, give your device a reboot.

STEP 7: Now go to Settings, General, Siri and switch it to on.

However, the Siri port provides few features to your old gen devices, but along with you must have note that it won’t works smoothly as it works on the iPhone 4S, and there is no guarantee from where your personal information broadcasted to Apple’s server or to proxy server. It’s highly advised to you, not to kick out the hack on your personal device. We are not responsible for any kind of damage by using this guide. We have tested it on our device, it works but after couple of reboots.

Update #1: As reported by the famous developers in the iOS jailbreak community, its not safe to use the tweak. Because the siri port does not connects your device directly to the Apple’s Server, instead they have connected their own private server and can easily capture all the ongoing information from your device.

Update #2: Since we have posted about it, many users have reported that after installing the tweak they could not record anything on their device anymore. However, after digging into the roots of the original file, the developer comes up with a little work around which allow you to fix the bugs on iPhone 4.

Download H1Siri Camera App Fix File From Here, Before You Follow The Tutorial

First of all SSH your device using the available software for both major operating systems, WinSCP for Windows and CyberDuck for Mac OS. After you successfully logged in your device, navigate to the“Root/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.dyld”, there you should get the filename ““dyld_shared_cache_armv7” simply replace it or delete it with above downloaded file on your device. That’s all, after performing the task, simply reboot your device and try to shoot a video with your device.

The past several hours have been quite hectic in the jailbreak community, with an announcement of a new crash reporter tool to help the Chronic Dev Team develop an untether for iOS 5, and the Dev Team’s Musclenerd announcing that an unlock for the iPhone 4S is in the works.

Now, there is even more to be excited about, as a new group, the Pwn Dev Team, has released their own jailbreak tool by the name of Ac1dSn0w. This tool is not affiliated with any of the current tools like Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze, but performs essentially the same function as Redsn0w. All that differes right now is a different interface, much simpler than that of Redsn0w (mostly because it lacks some functions). Note that this is not a tethered jailbreak, and is merely an alternate tool for performing the same function as Redsn0w.

To jailbreak with this tool follow the directions below.

NOTE: This jailbreak is NOT compatible with the iPhone 4S or iPad 2. The jailbreak is identical to the one provided by Redsn0w.

DOWNLOAD (Mac only)

1. Connect your device to your computer and turn it off.

2. Put your device in DFU mode. If you cannot remember how, check “Show Assistant” for on-screen directions.

3. Click “Jailbreak” and wait for the process to complete. If you want more info on what the program is doing, just check “Show Console”.

4. Once done, put your device in DFU mode again and click “Tethered Boot”.

Thats it! Keep in mind that this is still a beta release, and still may be unstable. We recommend holding off on this tool, especially since it doesn’t offer anything in addition to Redsn0w. You can check out the Pwn Dev Team’s post on Ac1dSn0w here.

Last night, many people got their hopes up when p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team said he had an exciting announcement. While it wasn’t the untethered jailbreak that many were hoping for, they did release a crash reporter tool to help them gather all the info they will eed to make the long awaited jailbreak.

Now, we have some news that will really excite those that have been holding off on the iPhone 4S because they rely on an unlock. According to a tweet from Musclenerd on Twitter, the Dev Team is working hard on a “very promising” unlock for the 4S.

Crazy Thanksgiving weekend! Very promising 4S unlock (twitpic.com/7kku4t) is in the works (Not i4, just 4S..that’s crazy part)

Along with the tweet he released this picture:

Up until now there has been no way for users to unlock their iPhone 4S, so this is great news for anyone that relies on an outside carrier. Stay tuned for more info on the release as Musclenerd reveals more on Twitter!

As we reported earlier today, the Chronic Dev Team was gearing up for a big announcement, and there was some pretty big hype on Twitter. Sadly it was revealed a couple hours ago that the announcement was not the untethered jailbrek that many were hoping for. However, p0sixninja has finally made the post over at Greenpois0n.com, and there is news to be excited about.

This new tool comes with a whole lot more info on the progress of the iOS 5 jailbreak, namely that Apple has patched a few critical exploits that were announced at JailbreakCon earlier this year. As such, the Cronic Dev Team has released a tool that sends all crash reports from your device to them, a process which will make it much easier for the to find exploits. These crash reports are the main way that Apple finds and patches exploits before they are used in a jailbreak, and the vast amount of information that will be sent to Chronic Dev will no doubt be a big help. To participate, head on over to Greenpois0n.com and check out the most recent post, and follow all the directions on how to set the system up.

Steps

1. Download Mac | Pc (coming soon)

2. Plug in Device

3. Click “Do it!”

Our most reliable source has spoken: expect body changes for the next iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Pro. Here’s what we’ve heard.

(1) The third-generation iPad will become modestly thicker (0.7mm) in order to accommodate the twin light bar system needed for its higher-resolution display. It’s currently on track for a March timeframe release, and according to our source could be publicly shown as early as January, depending on conditions.

(2) Our source says that the next-generation iPhone will not look like the teardrop-shaped version that was widely rumored for release in 2011. We’ve been told that the device will have a 4-inch display and will be 8mm longer than before, with a metal casing (probably aluminum). It is on track to be introduced in summer of 2012, and is still in the engineering phase, not early production. We suspect that poor battery life doomed the prior prototype version, and that this one is being built with LTE-ready battery drain in mind.

(3) Barring some huge and unexpected issue, 2012 will be the year when the MacBook Pro line gets its new design. Think thinner.

Here, finally, must certainly be the last word on Angry Birds. Certified Human Factors Engineering Professional Charles L. Mauro has done an exhaustive report called “A Cognitive Teardown of Angry Birds,” in which he breaks down, piece by ever-lovin’ piece, the throw-birds-at-pigs game and just what it does to users and their experiences.

The whole thing is quite interesting if you’re into user experience design, but the gist is that Angry Birds fits extremely well within our brains’ “mental model” of what the game should be. Not only is that bird-tossing physics engine easily calculated into our cranium, but the game’s bite-sized levels (which you can scroll across to re-check at any time) also play into our short-term memory programming as well.

And finally, Angry Birds nails down the visual experience by being both simple enough for almost anyone to understand, but just complicated enough to remember in an iconic way (so much so that the characters in the game have been turned into cakes, costumes, and even, um, bras. What Angry Birds did is no secret (and lots of other games have aped its look and aesthetics since — that “star rating on tons of levels” feature is now an iOS standby), but Mauro has done an excellent job really breaking down point by point why this game is so astoundingly successful on a cognitive level.

Apple has taken a lot of heat over the last four years due to the fact that its mobile products lack support for Adobe’s Flash platform. Since the iPhone’s introduction in 2007, not one of Apple’s mobile devices has included the plug-in.

Flash compatibility is a feature that Android device makers have often touted as an advantage over the iPhone and iPad. Well, they might want to come up with something else to brag about, as ZDNet is reporting that Adobe is canning development of mobile Flash…

Adobe is in the middle of a major restructuring, and is in the process of re-evaluating its business. According to ZDNet, that involves re-focusing on digital media and marketing, and dropping support for its mobile Flash plug-in.

Here’s Adobe’s official statement:

“Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores. We will no longer adapt Flash player for mobile devices to new browser, OS version or device configurations. Some of our source code licensees may opt to continue working on and releasing their own implementations. We will continue to support the current Android and PlayBook configurations with critical bug fixes and security updates.”

As you may recall, Steve Jobs wrote a compelling open letter in response to the criticism Apple received over its stance on Flash. Jobs listed off a number of reasons for giving Flash the cold shoulder, including poor performance, poor battery life, and major security concerns.

Instead of Flash, Jobs recommended that programmers use a more open web technology like HTML5. He believed it to be a far superior mobile platform, and it seems like Adobe now agrees with him. Along with its plans to cut mobile Flash support, the company also plans to increase its investments in HTML5.

Folders for iOS were introduced back in 2010 with iOS 4 but, for people who like to install dozens of apps, the feature is quite limited in functionality: You are only allowed to place 12 apps inside each folder and you can’t place a folder within a folder. To get enhanced folders, you have no choice but to jailbreak your iOS device and install folder-enhancing tweaks.

The method comes from AppAdvice in the form of a post in which they discuss the flaw and how to exploit to put a folder within a folder.

It is based on the same flaw in iOS 5 which was used to place the annoying Newsstand app icon – which is essentially a folder itself – inside a folder.

It’s simple: drag an app icon – any app icon – on another app icon to create folder A, grabfolder B which you want to place inside folder A and place it right beside folder A before dragging folder B on top of it to create a folder within the folder.

There must be some sort of catch to this, you must be thinking. Why would you be able to create subfolders when it’s not included in the OS by default? Well, you’re right: there is a catch… a very big catch: every time to try to open a subfolder, your iOS 5 device will crash and reboot.

What’s the point, then? Although I already have a jailbroken iOS device – and I useFolderEnhancer for, well, enhancing folders – this is quite useful if you want to hide those un-uninstallable stock apps inside a subfolder which you will never use. That’s just about the only conceivable use for this.

If you do decide to jailbreak your iOS 5 device, you can always install a tweak like Infinifoldersor FolderEnhancer so you can put unlimited apps inside a folder and even put folders inside folders inside folders.
