Since the release of Siri we have been hearing around that Apple is going to completely change the people watch TV as they have been changing the lifestyles of people by providing iPhone, Mac Devices, iPod and iPad which is seen in mostly everyones hand. We also know that Steve Jobs’ himself in an interview with Water Isaacson during the biography making of his, he said that how the people have been using the TV is now getting better and Apple has to change that way as they have been changing in each of there devices.

The Wall Street Journal, the best source of Apples content has reported that the new assigned Apples Vice President of Internet Services, Eddy Cue in a meeting has discussed mainly about Apple TV. Below is the complete sayings by Apple about Apple TC (by WSJ)

The Apple television set is said to be very reliant on the cloud, something we’ve heard before, in order to download (and likely stream) television shows, movies, and other content. There does not seem to be a large differentiating factor here from the $99 Apple TV set-top-box, but this content component is just the surface of the TV set.

Apple is looking at new forms of interaction with not only TV sets but with mobile devices like iPhones and iPads. These new ways of interacting with technology include voice and movements. The voice aspect (Siri) is something we’ve heard in reports before and movement is something that Apple has been prototyping for a while now. The Siri component would be used to change channels and search for content.

Apple is also said to be working on an enhanced version of AirPlay that allows a user to start watching video content on a television, for example, and pickup the video on their mobile device. This would be the opposite of the current AirPlay solution where someone starts watching content on their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and continues via streaming to their Apple TV box. The WSJ says this may simply be an Apple TV box feature, not exclusive to the set.

The report also says late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs has been an advocate for controlling the Apple TV box with iOS devices (via the App Store Remote application), so we’ll likely see the Apple TV set being controlled with iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches versus a standalone remote control.

Obviously, this Apple TV set would eliminate the need for the Apple TV set-top-box, and would allow users to stream content directly from the iOS device to the Apple TV set. Companies like Time Warner Cable have not been a fan of Apple’s current go through the set-top-box for streaming solution, according to the report.

Finally, the report says Apple is working on an iCloud-based DVR service, purportedly for this Apple television set.

So we guess that we should get ready to have the new boomed Television set by Apple.

We have already leaked out the suspense of the thing in the title, you guys have read write. It’s finally available in the market to install or port an iPhone 4S Siri on the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch. Since the hackers have teased the video of showing Siri working on the iPhone 4, iOS users go mad on the developers and start asking them for the public launch. Later, we found out that it’s impossible to launch a Siri port because it requires some Apple copyrighted files and the keys of iPhone 4S.

However, with all this news crunch, we have also seen some tweaks launched in the Cydia through unknown sources who claimed to port the Siri on the iPhone 4 but after checking it, we found that it’s just another scam. However, it seems this time, the team known as CD-Team has just able to finally build a tweak called “H1Siri” which brings GUI and the minor connectivity with the service servers but at least not with Apple’s Server, the team has made the GUI connectivity with their own private servers.

How To Fully Port Siri On iPhone 4 & iPod Touch 4G

STEP 1: First of, you’ll need an iPhone 4 or iPod touch running iOS 5 / iOS 5.0.1.

STEP 2: You’ll also need to jailbreak your iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4G by using our guide posted here for iOS 5.

STEP 3: Once jailbroken, head to Cydia then Manage, Sources, Edit and finally hit Add.

STEP 4: Write the following repository and hit add:

http://www.cydia.be

OR

http://www.iphone3gsystem.fr/cydia

OR

http://cydia.iphonetweak.fr

STEP 5: Get back to Cydia and search for H1Siri and install it. It will take some time since it weighs 109 MB.

STEP 6: After successful installation, give your device a reboot.

STEP 7: Now go to Settings, General, Siri and switch it to on.

However, the Siri port provides few features to your old gen devices, but along with you must have note that it won’t works smoothly as it works on the iPhone 4S, and there is no guarantee from where your personal information broadcasted to Apple’s server or to proxy server. It’s highly advised to you, not to kick out the hack on your personal device. We are not responsible for any kind of damage by using this guide. We have tested it on our device, it works but after couple of reboots.

Update #1: As reported by the famous developers in the iOS jailbreak community, its not safe to use the tweak. Because the siri port does not connects your device directly to the Apple’s Server, instead they have connected their own private server and can easily capture all the ongoing information from your device.

Update #2: Since we have posted about it, many users have reported that after installing the tweak they could not record anything on their device anymore. However, after digging into the roots of the original file, the developer comes up with a little work around which allow you to fix the bugs on iPhone 4.

Download H1Siri Camera App Fix File From Here, Before You Follow The Tutorial

First of all SSH your device using the available software for both major operating systems, WinSCP for Windows and CyberDuck for Mac OS. After you successfully logged in your device, navigate to the“Root/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.dyld”, there you should get the filename ““dyld_shared_cache_armv7” simply replace it or delete it with above downloaded file on your device. That’s all, after performing the task, simply reboot your device and try to shoot a video with your device.

TouchPad for iOS has built up a reputation for being one of the smoothest remote keyboard and Trackpad apps to do it, with functionality and features second to none.

Many remote control apps require you to download some form of third-party installer for your desktop, but since TouchPad is dependent solely on OS X’s native Screen Sharing technology, you won’t find yourself in the familiar predicament of trying (often unsuccessfully) to get two apps to connect with each other.

TouchPad has just been handed a fairly major update by developer Edovia, bringing Siri integration for those fortunate iPhone 4s users amongst you.

Providing your iPhone 4S and Mac share a Wi-Fi network in common, you can now use TouchPad to send voice notes from your device which Siri will, as she does with aplomb, convert into text understandable to the Mac.

Here are the rather excitedly-written release notes from Edovia, emphasizing the time and effort put in to the app:

At last, TouchPad 4.0 is out with even more Lion Love! This version took more time than planned and most of the work was made deep down in the app, mostly in preparation of Screens 2.0, which uses the same VNC framework we’ve developed for the past years and had to be revamped. The result is a super solid app that won’t give up!

Some features, such as the dragging gesture, were changed so we recommend you take a look at the revamped help documentation, bundled in the app. However, there’s still many new features.

Of the App Store’s rather incredible 500,000+ applications, although some are good and some are bad – as you would expect, some are just lacking a little TLC. It’s refreshing to see Edovia, (who aren’t the only outfit to work tirelessly on app improvements) still consider the customer experience after the money has been banked. Developers of neglected apps should certainly heed the example set by Edovia.

As has been the case throughout the TouchPad release cycle, this version runs very smoothly, and as well as the Siri integration, the update freshens the interface of the modifier toolbar on the iPad version and adds support for the EyeTV media player, as well as the usual array of bug fixes.

You can download TouchPad 4.0 from Apple’s App Store via this link. It costs $4.99, and compared to many other apps we feature, the price may seem a touch on the high side. That said, the quality of the app is also higher than average, rendering it well worth the money.

Today we have some big news regarding the effort to port Siri to other devices. With the development last week of SiriProxy, as well as Applidium’s tools, the ability for developers to run their own Siri servers rose dramatically. Now, we see the fruits of those efforts, as the first package that enables Siri on all devices is now available in Cydia.

The package is called Siri0us, and is available for free if you add a custom source. If you want to download the package, simply open Cydia, go to the “Manage” tab, choose “Sources”, and click “Add”. When presented with a text field, type in “http://cydia.myrepospace.com/0xjf/” and add the source. Then, just open the source or search for “Siri0us” in the search menu. There have been errors reported with the download, so just keep trying if it fails.

Video Tutorial:

Note that this is not full Siri functionality, just the dictation feature that comes as part of Siri. While we don’t have the full system integration that there is on the iPhone 4S, this is a huge step in the right direction. Hopefully we will see a lot more developers get on this, and the process of getting Siri fully working can move onward.

This a great news and a post for those who were waiting for SIRI to come on iPhone 4 and below. This is not any official release by Hackers who ported SIRI to the iPhone 4 but this is the perfect port of SIRI done on iPhone 4 by Iris Dev Team. The Iris Dev Team is made of some French Developers who ported SIRI to older iDevices. The compatibility so far is for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod 4.

This is a perfect port of SIRI and no words have been said on the activation of SIRI. This means that you can get SIRI on your iDevice but you cannot connect to Apple’s server. The activation of SIRI is in progress and it said to be released soon.

After reading the above statement, follow the steps below:

Step#1:

Your iDevice must be on iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1

The Device must be Jailbroken

You must have some knowledge about SSH or how to use iFunbox (WINDOWS) or Cyber Duck for (MAC)

If you are on the above stated things, so you can proceed further.

Step#2:

Download iFunbox or Cybder Duck on your PC or MAC. Then install iFile from Cydia.

Step#3:

After you have downloaded the above files, now download the original SIRI file from here.

Step#4:

Once you are done with Downloading, now get ready for some real work. Before you proceed, make sure that you are near any PC or MAC.

Now open iFunbox or CyberDuck and connect your iDevice. Once the iDevice is connected, it will show you a menu like this:

Now navigate to Raw File System

Ste#5:

When you are in Raw File system you will see the above folders. Now navigate to VAR folder or stay on the Root. All you have to do is place the Downloaded file in one of the locations. We would suggest you to place the file on the ROOT.

Step#6:

Now go into your iPhone and open iFile. Once iFile is opened find the file you putted from iFunbox into iPhone.

Like we have saved the file in VAR. We would reccomend you to save the file on Root. It would be easy to find.

Step#7:

Press and hold the file. Now it will give you some options. From all of those select installer and give your iPhone a minute or so to install the file on your iPhone. Once the installation is done, Done will appear on your upper left corner in blue,. Press that and you are not done yet.

Step#8:

The last step is to boot tethered. When the iPhone boots up. Voila! you are done now and you will have SIRI on your iPhone 4.

Go into Settings and it will be there.

Now simply go into SIRI and turn it on and enjoy the demo of SIRI.

Once again SIRI wont work properly because it is not yet activated. Means that is not yet connected to Apple’s server, So SIRI will say that it is having trouble while connecting to the network.

Since the Apple has launched its iPhone 4S with Siri – a virtual personal assistant, we have seen hackers and security researchers doing the hard work to dig into the Siri system and made it available on other hardware’s too, but lately it appears that Apple has baked the application close to the iPhone 4S firmware, which requires Apple Software Policy. The jailbreak hackers have been trying for a month now to port a Siri on other iOS devices, but stopped due to Apple’s Software Piracy.

The hackers just cracked the application to make it available on any other iOS devices, but it seems that folks over at Applidium has scored a big milestone by breaching the Siri’s Security Protocol. The team has also cracked the Siri system and connection system of Apple’s Server with Siri. The group of hackers has also revised the Siri’s protocol to know about the working of the Siri.

While cracking the Siri on other iOS devices, the team has designed the couple of custom tools that helps the developers to use the Siri API and functionality on their AppStore. As reported by the other hackers, the hacker who claimed earlier this week that he got a method to enter custom commands in Siri, has discovered the similar method of entering custom commands into the vmware machine.

The team has also announced that their research reveals that Siri can be easily ported to any iOS device, even can be easily run on the Android smartphones. The hacker team also announces that developers can also use this method to integrate the Siri into their applications, and can easily submit thirdparty applications of Siri.

We recently told you about Project Black Mirror, a seemingly-ambitious attempt to control the iPhone’s Siri technology with only mind waves. When we watched the original video of the project demonstration, we all — including the rest of the internet — got excited about the possibility of futuristic mind control.

It appears that the “hackers” behind Project Black Mirror were only controlling all of ourminds, not Siri’s. Several sites are now reporting that the project is fake…

The video demonstration shows a hacker thinking about who he wants to call, and then the command is fed through a complex setup of a Arduino board and MacBook Pro. The people behind the project used the video to jumpstart a KickStarter project and request donations to get the technology distributed to the public. The video has been viewed over 160,000 times since its release.

For the less scientifically inclined (admittedly, we at iDB included), the fancy wires and hardware used in the video demonstration seems to prove that Siri is really being controlled by brain waves that are converted to audio commands. Those with a knowledge of the science and technology have pointed out that demo was easily faked.

Greg Courville, an undergraduate physics student at the University of California, has pointed out several problems with the video posted by Project Black Mirror:

If you haven’t spotted it already: not only does there appear to be virtually nothing connected to the SpeakJet chip, it’s also placed sideways in the breadboard, which shorts a number of critical pins together, and therefore would make it impossible to use.

The project’s blog claims that ”ECG pads provide raw skin conductivity / electrical activity as analogue data (0-5v)”. Let’s go ahead and ignore the fact that they seem to have confused EEG with ECG (which is a completely different type of measurement), and the spurious reference to “skin conductivity” (ditto). The most glaring problem with that statement is the claim that EEG signals fall in an Arduino-friendly 0-5V positive voltage range. Suffice it to say they don’t.

What did Project Black Mirror do? Based on their written statements, their Youtube videos and the photo shown below, they connected the electrode leads directly to the analog input terminals on the Arduino.

In short, there’s not even the slightest chance that they are actually recording EEG signals this way.

What is perhaps most telling about Project Black Mirror’s intentions is that the people behind the project take absolutely no time to explain why they need funding, or what exactly the funding will be used for. Not only do the men not state their last names, but they give no explanation of how they intend to distribute the technology.

It’s a fake. We wish it wasn’t fake. Moving along now.

[Geekosystem]

Siri on iPhone 4S comes up with many power features to enrich the user experience on the device, along with many powerful search engine features carries the “Raise To Speak” feature on iPhone 4S that allows Siri to launch on a device whenever “Raise To Speak” activated iPhone 4S raise to the user’s ear.
The raise to speak feature uses the couple of iPhone 4S features, such as the proximity sensors to sense the raising action of the device and to sense how close the user’s face is to the screen. Apple has already powered their iPhone with proximity sensors to sense the closeness of a screen to the user’s skin in order to turn off the device display and touch to prevent accidental input while on phone calls.

However,it appears the new Siri “Raise To Speak” feature requires the proximity sensors to work all the time and silently allow them to eat all the battery of the device. Similar to “Setting Time Zone” bug of iOS 5. In addition to it, the infamous Teardown specialist firm named “iFixit” comes up with a report showing how the new iPhone 4S proximity sensors involved in emitting infrared lights to detect the user’s skin for Siri’s new Raise To Speak feature. During our iPhone 4S teardown, iFixit buddy Markus noted that the new iPhone had a rather unusual-looking black component next to the ambient light sensor. We didn’t make much of a fuss about it since we were knee-deep in disassembly pictures, but the little black box certainly piqued our curiosity.

Now that the teardown is wrapped up, we’ve re-opened the mystery and made a neat discovery about the 4S: that black component is an infrared LED, and the little bugger almost always wants to know if you’re nearby. iFixit folks have demoed a video showing comparison between the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S proximity sensors wwork. Thefirm highlights how iPhone 4 sensor activate when the user on pa phone call, and how the iPhone 4S new proximity work all the time to support the new iPhone 4S Siri’s “Raise to Speak” feature.

It appears that Apple is well known from the rising rumors of Siri port on older iOS devices even on iPhone 4. The latest rumor suggests that Apple has been testing Siri on iPhone 4 with special builds of iOS 5 firmware to it’s a number of employees. The news doesn’t confirm that we will surely get the Siri for iPhone 4, but at least informs to some nasty users who want Siri on their iPhone 4.

It seems that Apple has no plan to release Siri for the older devices, and therefore, they already opted to send out the couple of emails to their developers, letting them know that there will be no Siri for older devices, at least at this time or in a near future. Apple has just confirmed its upcoming plan through the bug fixing email to developer, Michael Steebar. The email slightly confirms that there will be no Siri for iPhone 4/iPad 2 in the near future.

Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue: Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices.
On the other hand, iPhone Jailbreak Hackers also announces that they will not release the Siri port to older devices in public because the Siri is strictly baked for iPhone 4S and the port requires some of the iPhone 4S core and firmware files, which are not publicly available for all users and requires a bit of Apple Software Piracy. Well at the moment, no one is here to provide you Siri legally on your iPhone 4 or iPad 2. It’s quite better to forget about the port and move on to some next amazing feature of the device.
