The wait is finally over. Chronic DevTeam has just released GreenPois0n Absinthe for Mac, which allows you to jailbreak your iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

Supported devices and firmwares

iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0 or either 4S version of 5.0.1

iPad 2 WiFi, CDMA and GSM running iOS 5.0.1

NOTE: if you need to unlock , stay at iOS 5.0

NOTE: If the Absinthe webclip shows “Error establishing a database connection”, please go to Settings, turn on VPN and wait instead. The VPN connection will give an error. This is normal. A reboot should happen a few moments after the error.

NOTE: No OTA updates

How to:

1. Download Absinthe - updated version ( mirror )

2. Connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2

3. Click Jailbreak

4. Wait a few minutes.

NOTE: if you’re iDevice gets stuck at ‘waiting to reboot’, don’t worry. You will need to manually reboot your iDevice

5. After reboot, you will see a new Absinthe icon on your SpringBoard. Tap on that to get Cydia.

5.1 It will probably say ‘Error Establishing a Database Connection’. Don’t worry. Unplug your iPhone, go to Settings.app and turn on VPN.

6. After you get that VPN error, your iPhone will reboot and your iPhone/iPad will be fully jailbroken.

Thanks to everybody involved in this jailbreak ….

The famous hacker of the iOS community, the man behind the most famous jailbreak tool Sn0wBreeze, iH8Sn0w has just released the major update to its tool called iFaith. iFaith allows you save the SHSH blobs of the current iOS version running on your iDevice. iFaith is is different from Tiny Umbrella. So don’t mix iFaith with Tiny Umbrella. To be more clear iFaith saves the current version SHSH blobs, where as Tiny Umbrella saves the SHSH for future Firmwares and the current one both.

Download iFaith v1.4 For Windows

As noted, iFaith is a Windows only tool, so until RedSn0w or some other Mac based software is updated, you will need a Windows box to successfully back up your SHSH blobs for iOS 5 and create a signed IPSW that you can use regardless of whether or not Apple is still signing that particular firmware.

TinyUmbrella has been updated to allow you to save your SHSH blobs, but there’s still the question of APTicket, and there’s still no “stitching” or signing solution for Mac users just yet. We’ll go out on the limb and say there will certainly be a full Mac solution soon.

How to Save Your iOS 5 SHSH Blobs

Notes: You must be on a Windows box. You must have an iDevice (not compatible iPhone 4S yet) that has iOS 5+ installed. Run iFaith as administrator for best results. You will need your current Firmware available to create the custom IPSW.

Step 1: Download and run iFaith.

Step 2: Put Your device into DFU Mode.

Step 3: Select “Dump SHSH Blobs” click Proceed, Let’s Go!, select No on the Apple TV 2 prompt, and click Start.

Step 4: iFaith will dump your SHSH Blobs and ask you to save them. Save them on your desktop.

How to Create a Custom Signed IPSW for Future Downgrading

Step 1: Run iFaith.

Step 2: Put Your device into DFU Mode.

Step 3: Select “Build *signed* IPSW w/ Blobs”.

Step 4: Browse for your device’s current firmware. You can also download directly from iFaith, but I recommend using the browse feature.

Step 5: Click Build IPSW.

Step 6: It will Extract the IPSW and place it on your desktop.

Step 7: Click Proceed and Click Start (Your device should already be in DFU mode, this will place it into PwnedDFU mode for custom restore using iTunes).

Step 8: Close iFaith, open iTunes and it should find your device in recovery mode. Hold Shift and click Restore and find your custom firmware. The firmware should be named something like: 0000000000_iFaith_iPhone_4-5.0.1 (9A405)_signed.ipsw.

In this example I created a custom 5.0.1 IPSW file. Since Apple is still signing this firmware, I won’t be able to verify my downgrade until iOS 5.1 is released, and Apple stops signing 5.0.1. Until then, I recommend keeping your custom firmware in a safe place for future pain-proof restores.

If you’re on iOS 5.0, you can test out your downgrade capabilities now since iOS 5.0 is no longer being signed. Just make sure that you select the custom firmware when you do your restore.

This will NOT work on an iPhone 4S since, like the iPad 2, the 4S isn’t limera1n susceptible.

As we reported earlier today, the Chronic Dev Team was gearing up for a big announcement, and there was some pretty big hype on Twitter. Sadly it was revealed a couple hours ago that the announcement was not the untethered jailbrek that many were hoping for. However, p0sixninja has finally made the post over at Greenpois0n.com, and there is news to be excited about.

This new tool comes with a whole lot more info on the progress of the iOS 5 jailbreak, namely that Apple has patched a few critical exploits that were announced at JailbreakCon earlier this year. As such, the Cronic Dev Team has released a tool that sends all crash reports from your device to them, a process which will make it much easier for the to find exploits. These crash reports are the main way that Apple finds and patches exploits before they are used in a jailbreak, and the vast amount of information that will be sent to Chronic Dev will no doubt be a big help. To participate, head on over to Greenpois0n.com and check out the most recent post, and follow all the directions on how to set the system up.

Steps

1. Download Mac | Pc (coming soon)

2. Plug in Device

3. Click “Do it!”

Since the Apple has debuted its first beta of iOS 5 to developers earlier this year in April, there was a long discussion done by the developers and rumors suggests that the new iOS 5 will allow users to make FaceTime calls over 3G. As many of you have already known, the FaceTime of iOS has been limited to Wi-Fi only since the introduction of the service in the iOS 4.The developers claim in the earlier days that there is a code in the iOS 5 SDK that suggests the functionality of FaceTime calls over 3G, but actually, none of them successfully prove the claim, but later this week it’s again claimed by the hacker that he got the hands on the snippet of code that requires a little modification, in order to enable FaceTime Calls over 3G.

It’s a worth note here. That jailbreak had been using the FaceTime over 3G for a long time, as they have some extra tools to play with the iPhone core system to introduce the Apple’s hidden features in the core of iOS. However, the new iOS 5 functions seem to be the legitimate way of making FaceTime call through 3G. At the current moment, Apple has not made it available yet for the general public, don’t know why. However, you can still use the FaceTime over 3G, but this time you need to be have a jailbroken iPhone, which allows you to editing .plist file inside your device.

Step 1. Using iFile or any other file browser, navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/

Step 2. Locate the N90AP.plist and open it.

Step 3. Below the <dict> line, under <key>capabilities</key>, add in <key>3Gvenice</key><true/>

Step 4. Make sure to save your changes, and then exit the file browser.

If you are a regular visitor at Itsmyphone.co, So you might have gone through the news regarding the Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5. There was a bug found in iOS 5.0 which can lead to Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.
The bug was founded by Miller and was announced by Pod2g, the member of The Chronic Dev-Team.The Jailbreak got no ETA so far, But they have said they will require some time in order to make it work properly. They need to work hard on it.

The team must be working on the Jailbreak, while Apple is working hard to fix the bug which was founded in iOS 5.0. Few days back Apple released iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 to Developers to fix the battery issues on iPhone 4S. iPhone 4S was reported to be having major battery drainage issues with even turning off the things like notifications and etc. The day before Apple released iOS 5.0.1 to end users in order to see if the battery issues are fixed or not. Now the news of Bug that had been discovered has spread widely, SO the chances are greater that Apple will fix the bug with the Battery issues in its new update of iOS 5.0.1. So today on a short notice, Pod2g, Tweeted that the bug can be fixed in iOS 5.0.1 update, So stay away from the update.

Note about 5.0.1 : don’t update if you plan on jbking : the bug Charlie MILLER found can simplify exploits dramatically and will be closed. Ever is waiting for the Jailbreak and Apple is planning to fix the bug as it has been announced early. People waiting for the Jailbreak are advised that do not update to iOS 5.0.1 because the Bug will be patched by Apple and no one knows that when the Next jailbreak comes.

So we would suggest you that wait for the news from the The-Chronic Dev Team before updating to iOS 5.0.1. We will update you as soon as we hear any thing new regarding the Jailbreak.

A moment ago, we have reported about the hidden iPhone’s panorama camera mode, and right after that someone actually comes up with a simple hack to enable it on the iPhone, but the method needs some advanced skills, because hack requires changes in plist files of iOS 5. It’s not a long time ago. We have posted about the news, and here the new jailbreak tweak lands in Cydia with the aim to simply enable panorama mode on the iPhone running iOS 5.

The tweak comes from the iPhone hacker, who has recently discovered the panorama mode of the iPhone camera. The new jailbreak tweak called “Firebreak” and contains simple changes in plist files, but in the background. You don’t need to edit them manually through iFile or any other platform software.

So, if you want the new hidden iPhone’s camera panorama mode on your device running iOS 5, simply launch Cydia on your device by jailbreaking it, and then find for a tweak called “Firebreak.” Firebreak is a free jailbreak tweak available in Cydia’s BigBoss repo. It does require a jailbroken iOS 5 devices with a built in gyroscope (iPhone 4, iPad 2, etc.).

It’s repeatedly reported by the sources that Apple was quietly working on the iPhone Panorama Camera mode, but they didn’t mention it in the public releases of iOS beta’s or files. It is appeared that finally the hidden panorama mode of the iPhone camera is revealed by some infamous hackers called Chpwn, who is currently closely working on the Apple’s iPhone 4S and iOS 5 firmware to bring some of the exclusive features to iPhone 4 on iOS 5.

The iPhone hacker has the just-published couple of pictures showing iPhone’s hidden panorama picture mode, and interface. He and his team actually also uploaded the panorama picture which they take from iPhone’s hidden panorama mode of the camera.

The panorama mode of the iPhone does not carry any fancy thing to interact with the user. Users can simply enable the panorama mode on their iPhone running latest iOS 5 by tapping on a panorama button, present in the camera option’s popover. The iPhone gives a normal tutorial on screen which helps users in shooting their panorama pictures. You can simply capture the panorama by moving phone from left to right.
